What Filipino is Like
by: Angela S. Patenio
What Filipino is like? Filipinos are like an abstract painting because they have lots of colorful beliefs, traditions and culture. They are one of those people in the world that treasures their culture and passed it on generation to generation. Many years have passed, but the essence and the beauty of the traditions and cultures of the Filipinos are still alive. There may be a lot of changes going on, but one thing for sure that the Filipinos won't forget there ancestors culture.
In the play The World is an Apple which is written by Alberto Florentino, shows many beliefs, traditions and cultures of a Filipino. In the story, a young couple who are on the lower status of society wanted there child Tita to have a comfortable life, just like any Filipino parents would like too. Gloria is a housewife and takes good care of their daughter, while Mario is a factory worker in an apple factory.
One time, Mario saw an apple that fell in the crate. When he saw the apple, he remembered her daughter that wanted to eat delicious apple, so he kept the apple inside the bag. But because of what he did, he was accused of stealing and he was fired on his work for stealing just one apple. The higher official of the factory wanted to kicked him out, because they wanted to let their men in. Mario got home with nothing. He explained everything that happened to his wife Gloria. Instead of getting angry with Mario, Gloria still understand the situation and reminded Mario that God will never let them down and they will surpasses the situation they are facing.
In this play, the characters possessed a character of a true Filipino that values and cherish their family. Through thick and thin they will do everything with the support of each other. They showed that no matter what status your family is in, you should accept the fact and strive more. And the last is, they never forget to believe in God. Filipinos are known to be religious and loving people. Whenever they have problems in life they managed to smile and solve the problems together with their families.
Thought it was Love (copypaste)
Thought it was Love
by: Derek del Barrio
i thought it was love
it was just bad luck
and i came to the conclusion
my love life really sucks
i'm not sure of my problem
it's gotta be me
maybe i'm too afraid
to face reality
i thought it was love
just my hormones kickin'
i look back at yesterday
oh what was i thinking
my fingers no longer count
the mistakes i have made
tears labeled why
seemed to end my day
and a beautiful girl
enters the room
her caring smile
ends my gloom
i get some affection
no longer am i broken hearted
it seems the cycle was just restarted
